FWW Research
Foundation for Women’s Wellness supports biomedical research to further knowledge about women’s health in general, and on gender differences. Our research efforts include funding short-term, small-scale research studies that hold promise to provide new information and catalyze larger scale investigations funded by the federal government. FWW also initiates an award to future physician-scientists working in women’s health, and in-house research spearheaded by Dr. Lila E. Nachtigall, MD.
With the support of Foundation for Women’s Wellness, the first U.S.-based study on the effectiveness of a popular herbal supplement in reducing menopausal hot flashes was completed.
For more information see related article in FWW Newsletter Issue#1 and The Journal of the British Menopause Society, supplement S1, 2001 titled “Isoflavones in the Management of Menopause” by Lila E. Nachtigall, MD.
